Bhubaneswar: Odia actress Archita injured on the sets of Shapath in Hyderabad. Archita admitted to Ramoji Film City hospital. Recently actress Archita Sahu's Odia film ‘Thukul’ a super hit.
Archita was born in the city of Bhubaneswar. She completed her schooling from D.M School. She is also a talented Odissi dancer who has also won National Scholarship in dance.In 2004, she was crowned as Miss Kalinga She did her first Oriya film 'O My Love' in 2005, even before completing her schooling in D.M School. To her credit she has many superhits and 100 days blockbusters. Archita has won laurels in acting, modelling and social works. With her acting, she has walked away with The best New Comer and Best Actress Awards. She is the new, yet established face in Oriya Films . She is currently studying B.Tech in KIIT University. She is presently the State level Ambassador of UNICEF and Govt. of Orissa for "eradication of child labour". She is also the ambassador of JUNIOR RED CROSS

Boat capsizes Jamadarpali Ghat near Hirakud dam in Odisha, 29 killed, Rahul Gandhi is on a two-day tour of Odisha and will visit the accident site.

W ith the recovery of more bodies, the toll in the boat mishap in Hirakud reservoir in Sambalpur district, Odisha, on Monday rose to 29. "At least 29 bodies have so far been recovered and three more are still missing," said Special Relief Commissioner P K Mohapatra in Bhubaneswar. The search team had on Sunday rescued nearly 80 people and fished out 11 bodies from the water. The incident took place on Sunday when around 120 people from the Lion’s Club of Sambalpur, Hirakud and Bargarh, were returning after going to other side of the reservoir for a picnic. Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi visited the site of accident in Hirakud reservoir and conducted an aerial survey of the area. Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, who is in New Delhi, has asked Revenue and Disaster Minister S D N Patro and Finance Minister Prasanna Acharya to visit the spot.
