Indian Railways to run 60 special trains for Rath Yatra Festival

                
               For the convenience of pilgrims and passengers and to cater to extra rush of passengers during Rath Yatra Festival at Puri, East Coast Railway has decided to run 60 special trains from different parts of Odisha and Andhra Pradesh excluding the existing trains coming to Puri.



Special trains will also run to and from Puri to clear extra rush on the occasion of Sandhya Darshan, Bahuda Yatra and Sunabesa. Apart from this, eight trains will be rescheduled.

Special Trains from Andhra Pradesh (VISAKHAPATNAM &PALASA):
One special train will leave Visakhapatnam at 18.00hrs on 20th June 2012 and will arrive Puri at 07.45 hrs on 21st June 2012 i.e. on Rath Yatra Day. In the return direction, this Passenger Special will leave Puri at 00.15hrs on 22nd June 2012 and will arrive Visakhapatnam at 10.00hrs on the following day.

Similarly, two passenger trains will leave Palasa on 21st June 2012 i.e. on Rath Yatra Day towards Puri. The Palasa-Puri Special trains will leave Palasa at 04.25hrs, and 04.45hrs towards Puri and will arrive Puri at 10.30 hrs & 14.00hrs respectively. In the return direction one special train towards Palasa will leave Puri at 18.15 hrs on Rath Yatra Day and will arrive Palasa at 00.20hrs (Mid Night). The another special train from Puri will leave at 19.15hrs on RathYatra Day and will arrive Palasa at 01.05hrs in the night.
Trains from Sambalpur:

One passenger special train will leave Sambalpur at 19.00hrs on 20th June 2012 and will arrive Puri at 03.30 hrs on 21st June 2012 i.e. on RathYatra Day. In the return direction this passenger special train will leave Puri at 23.05hrs on 21st June 2012 i.e. on Rath Yatra Day and will arrive at Sambalpur at 07.30hrs on the following day.
Trains from Bhadrak:

One passenger special train will leave Bhadrak at 06.15 hrs on 21st June 2012 i.e. on Rath Yatra day and will arrive Puri at 12.15 hrs. In the return direction, this passenger special train will leave Puri at 16.00 hrs on 21st June 2012 i.e. on Rath Yatra day and will arrive Bhadrak at 21.05 hrs on the same day.
Trains from Kendujhargarh:

One passenger special train will leave Kendujhargarh at 05.30 hrs and will arrive Puri at 13.45 hrs on 21st June i.e. on Rath Yatra Day. In the return direction this passenger special train will leave Puri at 20.20hrs on 21st June 2012 i.e. on Rath Yatra Day and will arrive at Kendujhargarh at 03.00hrs on the following day.
Trains from Gunupur:
One passenger special train will leave from Gunupur at 20.45hrs. on 20th June 2012 and will arrive Puri at 10.05 hrs i.e. on Rath Yatra Day.
Trains from Paradeep:

One passenger special train will leave Paradeep at 04.00 hrs on 21st June 2012 i.e. on the Rath Yatra day and will arrive Puri at 09.45 hrs on the same day. In the return direction, this passenger special train will leave Puriat 18.45hrs on on 21st June 2012 i.e. on the Rath Yatra day and will arrive Paradeep at 00.30hrs.
Trains from Brahmapur:
One passenger special train will leave Brahmapur at 07.20hrs. on 21st June 2012 i.e. on Rath Yatra day and will arrive Puri at 11.20 hrs.
Trains from Bangiriposi:

One passenger special train will leave Bangiriposi at 05.00hrs. on 21st June 2012 i.e. on Rath Yatra day and will arrive Puri at 13.10 hrs. In the return direction this passenger special train will leave Puri at 15.00 hrs on 21st June 2012 i.e. on Rath Yatra Day and will arrive at Bangiriposi at 23.30hrs.
Specials Trains from Cuttack:

One passenger special train will leave Cuttack at 06.15 hrs on 21st June 2012 i.e. on the Rath Yatra day and will arrive Puri at 09.15hrs. In the return direction this passenger special train will leave Puri at 21.20hrs (Mid Night) on 21st June 2012 i.e. on Rath Yatra Day and will arrive Cuttack at 01.45hrs.
Specials Trains from Khurda Road:

One passenger train will leave Puri at 15.15hrs and arrive at Khurda Road at 16.40hrs on 21st June 2012 i.e. on Rath Yatra Day. Similarly another passenger train will leave Puri at 4.00hrs on 22nd June 2012 and arrive at Khurda Road at 05.30hrs.
Specials Trains from Bhubaneswar:

One passenger special train will also leave Puri at 23.45hrs on 21st June 2012 i.e. on Rath Yatra Day and will arrive Bhubaneswar at 01.45hrs in the night.
In view of the above arrangements some short distance passenger trains will be rescheduled and cancelled during the Rath Yatra period.

Boat capsizes Jamadarpali Ghat near Hirakud dam in Odisha, 29 killed, Rahul Gandhi is on a two-day tour of Odisha and will visit the accident site.

W ith the recovery of  more bodies, the toll in the boat mishap in Hirakud reservoir in Sambalpur district, Odisha, on Monday rose to 29. "At least 29 bodies have so far been recovered and three more are still missing," said Special Relief Commissioner P K Mohapatra in Bhubaneswar. The search team had on Sunday rescued nearly 80 people and fished out 11 bodies from the water. The incident took place on Sunday when around 120 people from the Lion’s Club of Sambalpur, Hirakud and Bargarh, were returning after going to other side of the reservoir for a picnic. Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi visited the site of accident in Hirakud reservoir and conducted an aerial survey of the area. Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, who is in New Delhi, has asked Revenue and Disaster Minister S D N Patro and Finance Minister Prasanna Acharya to visit the spot.
